A complexing conundrum indeed, but adequately resolved by your lovable colonialist! I really enjoy the voices you've created here. I listened to a plummey professor on the radio this morning pronounce the word 'culture' as though it were a proper Anglo Saxon expletive. Tiberius' voice carries less pomp and more humour for me: More of a John Cleese than a Patrick Moore. Very entertaining!

An absolute hoot, delicious. I know how vital horses are to a pre-car economy, but I'd go for the girl every time.

I had a great Uncle who deserted from both the Imperial Russian and the Imperial Polish armies when both countries still had them around World war 1. he ended up in a council flat in Ealing in West London... Not quite the glamour of your wondrous tales

"codswallop" great word! could be used here, but Tiberius wouldn't like it. I'm sure he is very brave and did do all these things.

I love your adventure tales - great characters and the setting is great! He is living in the perfect place at the perfect time!

A fun read; wasn't sure how it would turn out. I like the one-sided dialogue--it works with this.
